It all started with an Apple Tree
December 1984, Robert and Virginia Mowery bought the 20 acre site, part of which the farm market is situated on today. We began planting Apple and Peach trees in 1985. Robert and Virginia started selling Apples and Peaches on weekends from the back of a pickup truck. In 1992 Robert took a hay wagon and built a movable shed to sell fruit from. And it grew from there!
Robert and Virginia retired in 2003 and their daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and Tom Bullock, took it over.
Today, besides the orchard we plant around 4,000 tomato plants, as well as another 1,000 vegetable plants (squash, zuchini, cucumbers, peppers). About 2 acres of pumpkins and gourds. Around 1/2 acre of asparagus and spring onions. Most of what we do is under black plastic with drip irrigation.
